Well, I know it’s from Invasion of the Body Snatchers…can’t remember the exact plot, but I guess you using it is something to do with the fact that everyone who is ‘body snatched’ acts slightly weird because they’ve actually been replaced by a clone (‘born again’ of sorts).

Is there more to it than that? Can I have my imaginary million dollars now?

Saw something similar to this a little over a week ago, except it was a woman at a church in Cleveland. It wasn’t go-go style, but it was just as ridiculous as this.

Once again you articulate something I’m feeling. I totally get the ‘being compared to the Oracle’ thing – I can see how it’s not encouraging in the slightest.

I’m keen to hear a little more about which aspects of your faith in Jesus you deem appropriate to remain private. I’m doing a module on Public Theology at the moment; I’m interested to hear your viewpoint.

Well, I only got through the first 50 seconds of the second one, but can see where the lyrics/images were heading…

I may have interpreted Beyonce’s version wrongly, but I’m taking it to mean she’s referring to women as an object, and I don’t think she believes that so I’d say her use of ‘it’ is deliberate.

As to whether her and the other 2 dancers jiggling their various anatomical features dressed in leotards is disrespectful, I think she’s being slightly ironic (is that the right word to use?) – of course we like ‘it’, therefore we should take on board what she’s saying and demonstrate our commitment.

Am I missing something?

But, in answer to your question, the second is by far more disrespectful. There are way too many guys with that kind of misoqynistic attitude and it makes me mad.
